Taking Over The World

Interview with Nandi Marie

A Different Lens Magazine had the pleasure of interviewing South Africa's super model Nandi Marie about her modelling and style inspirations...

Nandi, you have such a unique style. What can you tell A Different Lens Magazine about your inspiration?

Thank you! I’d like to say I get my unique style from my mother. She has always been my role model and she is always dressed to impress. One thing my mother has taught me is that you can never be too dressed up.

How do you manage to look so good?

I make sure to drink 3 liters of water a day and exercise always!

How do you prepare for a photoshoot?

When I have a photoshoot, I typically go to the gym beforehand or the night before. Also when it comes to preparing for a shoot I moisturize face/body, face mask, and also make sure my nails are well kept.

How long have you been modelling for?

I got signed to my first modelling agency at the age of 4 years old (crazy I know). I did that until I was 10. I returned to the fashion industry at the age of 20 when I was signed by Boss models

Can you tell readers of our Magazine something about one of your memorable shoots?  What made it so memorable?

One of my most memorable shoots was located in Cape Town; after the photoshoot I got in an Uber, and I packed my heels in a bag, then walked up Table Mountain.

If you are asked to walk the fashion runway during fashion week, what would you choose to wear and why?

I would wear a pink Chanel suit, 6-inch black heels, and a very over the top hat because I love being extra.

We all have guilty pleasures....what's yours?

My guilty pleasure is lip-syncing in front of the mirror to Beyoncé and chocolate.

When it come to fashion, what advice would you give to aspiring models?

Aspiring models should feel comfortable in their bodies, aim to be confident, and know your poses/angles.

What are your goals when it comes to modelling?

My career goal is to take over the world and make it better.

In addition to modelling, do you have other hobbies you want to share with us?

In addition to modeling, I love to sing and song write. I’ll spend hours just sitting in my room writing in my poem book and throwing beats over it.

Tell us someting about yourself that no one else knows.

I’ve always wanted to go to Japan #funfact
